The journey
The devotion is born in a Burgundian convent in 1673 and spreads from there across half of Europe and all of Latin America. Few images have so precise a date of birth.
How to read it
This panel gives up the rays and the crown of thorns around the heart. Only the gesture remains, both hands holding it, and it gains in silence what it loses in display.
